Every single 'clue' about what happened to George Henderson and Nancy (Larimore) Henderson makes people direct themselves to Missouri and why not? Because there was a George who died in 1860 there.. AND Hugh Larimore's Will was from Cooper Co, Missouri.
Buut would this be the same George and Nancy? Thanks to a fellow Henderson, who has sent me some information that he kept over the years.. it appears that George and Nancy were still alive and kicking in 1850 and 1860 Buut NOT IN GRAINGER COUNTY, Tennessee!
Turns out they were in Jefferson County, TN.. and if you look at the county lines, they are next to each other:

Does this mean that George had a lot of kids? Well duh, yes. A woman at the Jefferson Archives told me that women pretty much birthed kids until approx. 42 years of age.
Now this brings up the main question: Is Stephen H. Henderson's daddy George? I am going to say 97% yes.
Stephen married Elizabeth Long : 10 Oct 1831. She died 1836, and one child I can see is alive. Mary Henderson. He remarried to Caroline Phillips on : 19 November 1842 both married in GRAINGER COUNTY, Tennessee
and caroline and Steve had a bunch of kids.
But on the 1880 census it says his dad was born in Virginia.
Now the next thing is researching Jefferson County for a Will. Also, one Henderson told me that there was a George who got land from a William Henderson in Greene County, Tennessee. Was this the same George? Or were there two George's ???
The final answer? We might find out and we may never find out. But it is fun to research :)
