George Henderson and Nancy Larimore - New findings!!!

As you all know by now, I am 'stalking' my ancestor George Henderson's footsteps.
Why? Because he is a mystery.

He married Nancy Larimore in 1810 in Grainger, TN. William Henderson stood up for him.

1830, he was in the Grainger County Census records.
1840-1860 he moved to Jefferson County.
he died after 1860.

now where did he come from?

I got some information from Hawking's County and a hard-to-find book (unless you go to a Tennessee State Library) I got off on Amazon.com called "Early East Tennessee Taxpayers'
(FYI: I can look up anyone you want for free :) contact me: subject: Genealogy lookup

on page. 66, it lists George Henderson : 70 acres of land : 1809.
I called Hawkin's County and they told me that there was a George Henderson and two entry's (I will find out what both are!! :) )

One for: 1809 and another for 1812. One of them says a John Henderson deeded land to George Henderson (I believe in 1809.. might be 1812. I will find out tomorrow and post).
it was located : North of the Holston River. .which is on the boarder of Bean Station which is the land that Thomas Henderson, the political dude had.

very. interesting. Indeed.

So who was John Henderson?

According to this site,
Samuel and Elizabeth (Williams)children Henderson were: Mary who married Joab Mitchell who lived in Tennessee; John who married on 4 June 1772 to Sarah Hinton the widow of Solomon Alston Jr.; Elizabeth who married John Beackham. This John was an attorney and was named in some Tennessee records settling land deeds for related Henderson family members.

That is a good clue :)  Now  there is a Will for Samuel Henderson:

SAMUEL HENDERSON EXECUTOR PLESA.MT AND Samuel HENDERSON   MARCH 30 184-3

Pleasant Henderson Samuel Henderson   Betsey Henderson, Lucinda Henderson, Amanda Henderson  : Grand children; Thos Henderson, George Henderson, Wm Henderson   Bradley Henoerson, Samuel Henderson, John Henderson   ARTHUR HALE MAY 19, 1845 Jane Hale, Ali-e Hale, Martha Hale,   Kindred Hale, Hiley j Hale, Betsey Hale.   John Headrick September 23, i847 Wife Rachael Headrick John B Headrick  james W Headrick, Bernard C headrick, Elijah W headrick,  Peggy Phillips, and Anne Walker.

1. Pleasant Henderson married: Louisiana Armstrong "Lou": born: Dec. 7, 1808 died Apr. 11, 1881 in (Arkansas) - more information here.

Also, Nathanial Henderson who was in Hawkins County, was related to the famous Judge Richard Henderson.

here is an interesting fact:
"member Constitutional Convention of 1796 and of the Tennessee General Assembly."
(from TN General Assembly Biographies; Hawkins co, TN)"
below is Thomas Henderson:
"House, 1st General Assembly 1796-97"

Thomas Henderson and Nathanial Henderson's land were next to each other.
I now believe that Thomas and Nathanial were related. They were both educated. They both loved politics.
Going back to George. I now know that George was educated.
Samuel had a grandson named George Henderson. not the same George but a proof that George Henderson, son of Thomas Henderson was related to Samuel Henderson. The fact that Sammy boy had a grandson named George is further proof that these Henderson families are related.

So folks, we can officially scratch off that Thomas Henderson was born in Virginia to Thomas Henderson and Dorcas Henderson. Not the correct line. what-so-ever.
2 pats on my back.
now back to scooby-doo mystery solvin' :)
